Mosaic Stepping Stone:

Adorn your garden with a colorful stepping stone. In this class, we will roll up our sleeves to mix concrete, set it in a mold, and then decorate the surface turning our broken shards of glass and beads into a wild design. Your stone will need to remain at our store for 5 days curing time before you can pick it up.

Flat Peyote Stitch:

Learn the basics of peyote stitch while making a beautiful bracelet. Using needle and thread we will learn to weave Delica beads into a basic stitch that will prepare you for more advanced peyote stitch classes.

Pearl Knotting:

This workshop is an excellent introduction to using carded silk thread, an awl, and the "Professional Tri-Cord Knotting Tool" for knotting between pearls and beads. Complete one knotted bracelet in class!

Flower Shell Necklace Set:

(Basic Bead Stringing & Earrings Combo) First things first...shell is in this year! Join us in this class, not only to be in style, but most important to learn the basics of constructing beaded jewelry. We will review all the basics on stringing materials, findings and design. You will leave with a finished necklace and a pair of earrings, and ready to make more.

Felted Beaded Beads:

Using a barbed needle, we will felt colorful wool into a ball and embellish it with seed beads. These will make great focal beads in your next beaded masterpiece.

 

Crystal Illusion Necklace:

Everyone loves the sparkle of Swarovski crystals. This multiple strand necklace uses clear monofilament and crimp beads to create the illusion that the crystal beads are floating.

Embellished Silk Bracelet:

Take beautiful silk cording, and sew glass, crystal and pearl beads on until it is as full as your heart desires. For a finishing touch, we will magically hide the ends of the silk into cones or beadcaps to move to our clasp. This bracelet makes a rich, artful statement.

Not the kind your Grandma wears! Join us in this class for a fresh spin on pearl earrings. We will teach the basics of the loop and coil technique using sterling silver wire and beautiful freshwater pearls in wild colors such as lime, navy, orange, pink, purple and, of course, white.

 

Flower Power Lariat:

Spring is here and so are our Czech glass flower caps. We will make a long swanky lariat adorned with colorful flowers that is guaranteed to make you feel cheerful.

 

PMC Hollow Beads:

As easy as 1, 2, 3! Learn how to make your own fine sterling silver hollow beads using Precious Metal Clay with balls of cord that burn away as your core. Learn all about the clay and how to fire your beads in a kiln.

Girls have a hard time resisting pearls. This class will teach you all of the basics of bead stringing while using gorgeous freshwater pearls.

Separating yourself from the crowd and establishing your work and style as professional is not always easy. Join Deborah Coule for this lecture and discuss the "do's and don'ts" of pricing, tagging, displaying, approaching businesses, appearance, follow-ups, consignment vs. wholesaling, how to present a line of work and getting what you want out of the end result. Deborah has had over 20 years experience in the beading world and has owned a jewelry gallery as well as a retail bead store. Join her for an afternoon of laughs and experience passed down.

Sculptured Peyote Bracelet with Cabochon*

(Prerequisite: Peyote stitch with full understanding of increasing and decreasing.) In this workshop, you will surround a small cabochon with a beaded bezel and use freeform peyote stitch to create and attach a colorful sculptured wrist band. The prerequisite is an absolute must!

 

Wire Wrapped Stone Pendant:

Create an original pendant combining the simplicity of stones and the intricacy of wire art. Learn to manipulate the wire with simple tools, forming it into a piece of unique jewelry. Bring your favorite stone. We will provide an additional stone for your use.

 

Felted Flower Brooch:

Show off any dress by wearing a flower brooch that is way cooler than any corsage. We will use a barbed needle and shape our colorful wool into petals of a flower. The center of the flower is adorned with seed beads, of course!

 

Beginning Glass Beadmaking:

This is a two-day workshop that will introduce you to the flame. Spend the weekend with Gary Newlin and learn how to melt rods of Italian soft glass and form it into unique beads. You will learn studio set-up, safety tips, equipment, supplies, color, bead shapes as well as an exploration of techniques with great results.

 

Loomwork 101:

In this class we will teach you the very basics on setting up and using your loom, and YES...you get to keep the loom. Learn warp and weft threads and loom away. We will discuss design and how to create the look you want. You can create a choker, bracelet, anklet, hat band, head band, bookmark and much more.

 

Wire Wrapped Earrings:

Hone your wire wrap skill with these easy, yet dramatic earring. Learn to make interesting shapes with wire and then link the pieces together with decorative beads. No prior experience is needed and you are sure to be a pro when the class is done. Join us to wrap some fun.

Patterns, Patinas & Color:

We are very proud to welcome back nationally recognized Louise McClure, of Sabi. In this workshop you will add character to your work with simple and effective methods to alter surfaces, add pattern and color to a wide variety of materials for use in you jewelry designs. Create the effects of time with oxidizing techniques. Change the surface texture and add pattern with etching and embossing. Add images to surfaces with pressure stamping, heat and cold transfer. Apply paint, ink, enamel, powdered pigments and metallic leaf to add color. With all of this in the class, you will explore these surface effects and experiment with new raw materials and methods to express your colorful visions.

 

Vintage Glass Earrings: (Beginning Earrings)

A blast from the past! Use old collectible glass beads to pair with our basic loop and coil technique to make stunning earrings.

 

Prism Necklace: (Basic Bead Stringing)

You can easily fashion our own beaded jewelry if you know the basic techniques. This class will get you started by teaching you to string a simple necklace using a crystal prism centerpiece. Learn how to choose the proper stringing materials and clasps so your creations will last!

 

Dreamcatchers:

Using artificial sinew, weave a dreamy dreamcatcher inside a twig frame. Beads will be provided for you to add into your design. These hang great above the bed, but also make a terrific decoration for the rearview mirror in your car.

Leatherworks:

Quick and easy jewelry. We will explore the different projects you can make with leather. This class is more about the techniques that are taught rather than the samples that are brought home. We will practice a button and loop closure, attaching a toggle, a sliding slip knot, attaching a hook and eye clasp, connecting chain and a bit of wire wrapping.

 

Bead Embroidery 101:

In this class we will bead embroider a small patch of hand-drawn design. Learn the basic stitches of fastening beads to the fabric. With this technique under your belt, the sky is the limit!

 

Beyond Earrings:

Take your knowledge to the next level of beading! Exploring the loop and coil technique we will learn to make key rings, fan pulls, link beads together, work with chain and much more.

What a name! What a bracelet! What a great class to take! Make a fabulous bracelet with freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and glass seed beads. It is organic, it is free form, it is what you need. Enjoy an afternoon of crafting and be ready for a night on the town looking FABULOUS!!!

Teardrops & Wire Flower Pendant:

Wire work beads together to form a flower-shaped pendant that is guaranteed to put a cheery touch to any necklace. This class will allow you to make three pendants to take home.

 

Lecture: Conquering Your Creative Block:

In a beading rut? Come to this lecture to get out of it! We will discuss ways of bringing your creative juices to the surface. There will be a lecture, class discussion and question and answer session. Bring one beaded project that has been lying around but not getting worked on. Together we will problem solve and get you back on track and fired up about your next beading endeavor.

Take your bead stringing to a new level. Learn how to control lengths and position beads to create a beautiful 3-strand necklace. This project introduces you to end bars and spacer bars that add a nice accent to your jewelry.

Use needle and thread to learn to weave seed beads together to form a spiraling rope that can be used to make necklaces and bracelets, as well as straps for amulet bags and/or eyeglass holders. Swarovski crystals will be used to accent the necklace for that extra bit of shine!

 

Introduction to Precious Metal Clay:

This introductory one-day PMC workshop teaches the basics of working with this remarkable new material and includes 1 oz. of Pure Silver PMC, access to tools, finishing techniques and firing. Everyone goes home with finished pieces!

 

Fuzzy Beaded Beads:

Use needle and thread to bead a bead. We will make a base ring which is the hole of the bead and fringe out seed bead and crystal endings. This makes a great focal bead in your next design. In this class you will have enough materials to make two beads.

This sculptured peyote bracelet will teach not only the surrounding of a small cabochon, but sculptural freeform peyote techniques. A working knowledge of the flat peyote stitch is a prerequisite.
